DRILL, BABY, DRILL! SARAH IS SILENT?

REMEMBER DRILL, BABY, DRILL?

Since the epic disaster in the Gulf, the speak first think later poster child for America has been quiet. This does prove that even in a disaster there is a silver
lining. Yet, Palin was not the only one. McCain flipped and jumped on the drill bandwagon of oil drunk politicians. Obama also gave a soft no to offshore drilling indicating he would consider offshore drilling as part of a comprehensive energy plan. Just this year, he clarified his support for offshore drilling.
Clearly, all three are being victimized by the fumes and were part of a bandwagon effort to move political support with a mantra of ending our support on foreign oil. A noble goal indeed. But, at what cost and what reasonable alternatives have we overlooked as we all chanted, "DRILL, BABY, DRILL.
In light of the BP disaster, a reaonable person would think that a softer, more thoughtful approach would be taken by people who do or want to lead our country. Just when I thought Sarah was silent, I heard a tweet from the north. More of a tinny yelp from the "dontcha know I can get the folks who voted for W cuz the other guy was too smart" new standard bearer. Yes, it was the call of the poster child for the SPEAK FIRST AND THINK LATER party. Which leads to me to a sad, but true statement by Sarah Palin. Really she said this, I am not just making this up, though I wish I were. Ready? Seriously, this both funny and frightening--
Sarah says, "Let's drill in SAFE places like the Alaska National Wildlife Reserve." She says safe and drill and wildlife in one breath. And the freaky part, she means it and does not see the irony. Oh it gets better, she tweets further "See now why push drill, baby, drill?"
I couldn't believe this and because I wanted to make sure that the conspiracy of the liberal media wasn't just making this up, I went to Ms. Palin's own facebook post and her twitter account. Indeed she said this, see for yourself at twitter.com/sarahpalinusa.
I read her statement and then wondered......I am in one of those trippy dreams where I end up in my pajamas back in the third grade? Or, really are we really that stupid that we want the conductor for the stupid symphony to lead us in more stupid chants?
Really? Baby? Really?
